This Podiatry Clinic In Singapore Also Provides Back Pain Treatments
When people think of podiatry clinic, they usually just think that it focuses on the foot. It’s the same thing I thought too at first. But after my experiences in East Coast Podiatry Clinic, my perception of a podiatry clinic has changed.
It all started when I started feeling pain in my ankles.
I’m just a regular office guy here in Singapore. And like many others, I walk and commute to and from work, standing on the MRT and walking on the streets of Jurong. Of course, walking and standing put a lot of strain on my feet, and I often find myself tripping over to one side because my feet are tired.
Whenever this happens, I feel a really sharp lower back pain shooting up from my ankles. The pain usually settles around somewhere near my lower spine area. The pain lasts for a few minutes and can be excruciating! I need to sit down for a few minutes when this happens to me.
The lower back pain can be very troublesome, especially when this started happening more often. I decided to figure out what was happening to me by going online, but there were so many different diagnoses for it that it was hard to know which one was accurate for my situation.
That’s when I decided to go to the forums to ask for help. I told them about my situation: the sideways tripping on my own feet and the lower back pain that comes after. One user in the forum told me to check out a foot and ankle specialist in Singapore called East Coast Podiatry Clinic as my situation has something to do with my feet ”pronating”.
I didn’t know what they meant by my feet “pronating”, but I decided to visit East Coast Podiatry Clinic like they suggested to help me with my feet and the lower back pain I was experiencing.
When I got there, I had a quick consultation with one of their podiatrists and he explained to me what feet “pronating” is and he said the person who told me about it was right that I went to them for assistance.
My podiatrist did some physical tests and did a thorough evaluation of my legs and the condition of my joints. He said that my joints are not heavily damaged, but they are clashing with one another and it’s not a good thing. He also said that the back pain I’m feeling is because of the compensation that my spine is doing for the misalignment of my hips.
After his thorough evaluation of my leg and lower back, he offered me some traditional lower back pain treatments popular in Singapore. He also said I should get some Podiatrist-prescribed custom Orthotics shoe insoles and make changes in my footwear. He also gave me advice on how to protect my feet during my daily commute like changing my footwear and walking with a proper posture so that I don’t get lower back pain.
After a month of taking my podiatrist’s lower back pain treatment advice, I was able to lessen the times when my foot would pronate. And when it does, the pain is not excruciating anymore. I’ll definitely seek more back pain treatment in Singapore so that I can finally get rid of this lower back pain once and for all.
